The Genesis Incline is the bike I have the most experience with between the two bicycles, as I ended up with the Schwinn around the time the snow began to fly, and the cold moved in. Genesis bikes became renowned for their use of steel tubing and ethos for function over form. If you’re in the market for a more porteur-style bike, the Brixton is where Croix de Fer meets cargo. Its 1×9 drivetrain keeps things simple, while the swept back riser bars give the rider a more upright position.
If you’re a roadie, Genesis has a few models for you to consider. Bikes for all occasions, from all materials, that ride well, last a lifetime and look good while they’re at it. But the external cable routing makes it hard for me to get interested, it looks more cluttered. However, the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike has an internal cable routing design, which makes the overall frame look neater and prevents damage to the control cables. On the contrary, the larger 27.5″ tire diameter is not as nimble as the Genesis 26″ V2100 Mountain Bike on tight trails.
Alright, now we have gone through what I like, and don’t like about each bike. So what made me finally decide that I wanted to go through the trouble of returning the Incline, and trade it for the Boundary? For the price, the Boundary obviously has higher quality then it probably should! I have found that a 1 x 7 gearing is a better setup for me. It means less shifting, less weight (due to lack of front gears). As I mentioned with the Incline, the Boundary has this functionality.
