One mad idea often begets another, and that is how this $34.95 purchase came about. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere in the blog, I’m getting married in Joshua Tree on August 2nd, outdoors. Shade can be a matter of survival there if you’re outside at midday. Then I started having other wild fantasies, like effectively adding a room to the desert shack where I live by erecting the shadehouse in the backyard. Wasn’t even able to get the tent set up in a mild wind before one of the corner plastic parts broke. I have purchased outdoor sporting goods from Coleman and they not only have much better products, but they stand behind what they sell.
Then the screening doesn’t fit right over the frame. I am sorry that I ever purchased it. Hopefully I can find a replacement part. I contacted Wal-Mart (1-800-WALMART) to see where I could get a replacement pole for the tent. They are idiots and seemed like they didn’t want to help me by supplying me with the manufacturer’s phone number. Absolutely no offer to resolve the issue.
We used it to put it over a little swimming pool for our children and it works great. I called to get a replacement and the customer service person I talked to was awesome! She guided me through until I was able to find the correct serial number for the part and sent it to me right away.
If anyone has a hub gable or #1 Roof pole, I would be interested in buying those parts. I loved the size of this screen house but after a few uses, the 4-way hub gable cracked and a couple of the curved roof poles bent a little. Had the screen house for 4 years. A gust of wind probably around 50 MPH took it down.
Setting up the screenhouse you need an army of people to hold the frame in place to put the screen over. Then the hooks don’t even reach the holes at the bottom of the poles. Then if you can manage to get that far, you have to run like crazy to get it tied down before if falls over. Bottom of screen doesn’t even tough the ground. This tent is only $47 at Walmart, however that is not the point. The hubs on the tent and the construction of the design are worthless.
After setting it up, it seems to me folks just don’t know how to exercise a little common sense and patience. The overall construction is about what you expect for the price. Browse Ozark Trail’s top-rated hiking and camping gear and more. My experience with Ozark Trail equipment has been to reinforce the old adage “you get what you pay for”. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a good screen house spend the additional money and get a Swiss Gear. Don’t try to save a few dollars and end up with a POS like this one.
Sadly it blew over over in a storm last night breaking two corner pieces and the middle X broke. We are looking for these pieces if anyone wants to sell. I purchased Model #WT98010R and I’ve had it for 2 years and have put it up ozark trail screen house probably 6 times. This summer I had it up in the backyard after a birthday party for several days and one of the poles broke during a bad storm while I was at work. I bought two of these tents new last year from a yard sale.
It’s starting to wear out and I’m looking to replace but can’t find one anywhere. Can someone point me to the person please. Had I have known that this particular screen house was so hard to find, I would have bought a kit and tried to repair it.
An absolute waste of money and time, and cost plenty of aggravation. Find something simple to set up, reliable, durable ozark trail chairs and with product support. Great product, however, like everyone else, unable to locate replacement parts.
The screen tent came with missing and broken parts. Their solution was for me ozark trail canopy to pay for replacements out of pocket. No apology, no offer for a resolution.
