The few testers who didn’t like it often preferred the Kijaro Dual Lock XXL Chair, which costs a little bit more but provides a roomier seat. Testers with knee and hip issues reported that when they were getting in and out of this chair, its armrests felt more stable than those of any other model. So they felt comfortable leaning onto the frame for extra support. Of the ozark trail backpack chairs we tested, the Coleman chair was the only one that came with a built-in cooler bag, which can hold four standard-size beer or soda cans. The chair also has the round mesh cupholder found on most chairs of this type.
Ozark Trail Outdoor Equipment is fairly new on the UK market and is mostly sold in Asda, the UK version of Walmart. For a supermarket brand, the Ozark Trail Outdoor Equipment series offers great value with good quality products and a large range of camping essentials available from tents to sleeping bags. We also didn’t care for the loud chain slap on the chainstay. Since there isn’t a clutch in the derailleur’s spring to control chain slack, padding is sorely needed on the chainstay. A few dollars spent on self-fusing tape silences things nicely. And then there’s the build and tune quality, but this is just part of the deal when buying bikes like this.
As long as descending speeds and terrain are kept reasonable, its overall performance is as good as it looks, too. What shocked us most is nothing broke or bent under moderately hard riding. Its brakes are simple Radius-branded mechanical disc brakes with 160mm rotors.
The Ozark Trail XXL Director chair is a good, if somewhat basic, director’s style camp chair offered by a company with a solid reputation in the market. While it has a few shortcomings, these are generally easy to fix and overlook. Suppose you think you may be in a position where you’ll spend several hours in this chair. Testers preferred the Coleman chair’s thoughtfully placed mesh storage pouch over those of its competitors. This pouch is big enough to stow gear like a phone, book, or tablet. If you’re unsure which camping chair to buy, you can’t go wrong with the classic Coleman Cooler Quad Chair.
Even under moderate pedal loads, the system shifts fairly quickly and smoothly. The biggest things it’s missing compared to far more expensive versions are a clutch in the derailleur to control chain slap and a narrow/wide chainring tooth profile to keep the chain on. Regarding extras, the Ozark Trail XXL Director camping chair has a fold-out side table attached to one of the chair arms. The table is big enough to hold a small plate, which makes camp dining convenient, and a few miscellaneous supplies if and as needed. However, it is marginally above average in terms of comfort compared to other camp chairs. A functional cupholder, a convenient carry strap, and durable fabric distinguish this kids’ chair from similar seats.
If you’re looking for highly specialized or ultra-lightweight chairs for backpacking, our recommendations are probably not for you. We also don’t have suggestions for couch-style or loveseat chairs (we’d like to look at those someday, though). It’s perfect for tall individuals due to the longer back and head rest panel which gives stability and ample back support to the chair. The wide seating area makes it comfortable for users of all heights and everyone can benefit from the longer back panel. One of the best features is the longer back panel which reaches up to the neck and allows for you to tip your head back and rest it on the lightly cushioned area for extra relaxation.
