The flip-top lid has a sloped mouthpiece, which eliminates splashing and makes drinking from the cup pleasant. The latch creates a ozark trail tumbler strong seal when you press it into place, but you can still pop it open one-handed when you’re on the go. And the straw on the other lid is made of a flexible, soft plastic, so it’s nicer to sip from than harder plastic or metal straws. They’re also more kid-friendly than standard glass cups or flimsy plastic bottles.
This vacuum-sealed, stainless steel tumbler will prove to keep your cold drinks cold longer than 12 hours, and hot drinks hot. The sun and oppressive heat continues to bake the tumblers eight hours into the test. The pavement temperature rose to 144.8deg, the highest temperature measured all day. The Yeti had an external temperature of 111.5deg, the orca 104.7deg and the Ozark Trail was measured at 122.9deg. The Yeti drained a total of 11 ounces of water, the Orca 10 ounces and the Ozark Trail 12 ounces. This is the first time that less than half the ice remained in the tumblers and it was melting fast.
Is Walmart’s Ozark Trail brand a true sleeper, putting out products that deserve much more attention among outdoorsmen? With that question being floated, we decided to travel down the path of discovery and start to take a closer look at Ozark Trail and some of their products. We just completed a review of the Ozark Trail Tumbler line, which is not only budget friendly but also well performing. We employ a stringent quality control process that ensures all our products are defect free at the time of order fulfillment. Exchanges (if applicable) We only replace items if they are defective or damaged upon arrival.
The Ozark Trail cooler is made from polyethylene, which is the most common kind of plastic in use today. The rotomolding process entails heating plastic pellets which coat the interior of a mold while it is spun around in a number of different directions at a very consistent pace. The mold is kept on the move during both the heating and coating phases as well as the cooling phase. The coolers remained in the same location for the duration of the 6 day test, only being opened to snap daily progress pictures. So, I have to say that I was really surprised with how this test turned out.
After extensively reviewing the data from the travel logger, we found that—drumroll, please—the two tumblers performed exactly the same. I’ll pause for shock value, but there’s no real difference between the two other than the price tag and that the Yeti is dishwasher safe. Putting them side by side, the Yeti and Ozark Trails tumblers look exactly alike.
I tested the same three tumblers on one of the hottest Alabama summer days in early August. The temperature was in the mid-90s with a heat advisory in effect. The 20-ounce CamelBak Horizon tumbler excels at keeping contents cold.
However, we have personally washed the Ozark brand water bottles and ozark trail tumbler tumblers in the dishwasher at my house without issue for years. This set includes a 30 ounce Kitchen Leaders stainless steel tumbler, a sliding lid, straw, straw cleaner, and best of all — the handle too. All in all, both mugs do an incredible job at insulating both hot and cold drinks for hours on end. Additionally, when holding each tumbler, I couldn’t feel any heat or chill through the material, which makes either ideal for drinking exceptionally hot or cold drinks. As stated previously, all of these tumblers are well-built and will keep beverages cold for a long time, even is hot Alabama summer heat. The pavement temperature measured 122deg at the four hour mark.
