You’re not constricted by Lycra or expected to keep pace when you’re on one. There’s a good chance you’re wearing flip-flops—and maybe even a bathing suit. Hopefully, you’re near a beach but you certainly don’t have to be.

Much of my time was spent at my grandparents though and I would come up and spend a good week at a time. Like gears, handbrakes require more maintenance, but also added flexibility. Reminiscing back to your childhood, beach cruisers were almost always single-speed. All of these features are copied from cruisers, but redesigned to look more like regular road or hybrid bikes.
