You’re not constricted by Lycra or expected to keep pace when you’re on one. There’s a good chance you’re wearing flip-flops—and maybe even a bathing suit. Hopefully, you’re near a beach but you certainly don’t have to be.
Much of my time was spent at my grandparents though and I would come up and spend a good week at a time. Fabulous and functional, the front and rear fenders add that vintage flair while helping to protect you – and your clothes – from splashes and dirt while you ride. Like gears, handbrakes require more maintenance, but also added flexibility. Reminiscing back to your childhood, beach cruisers were almost always single-speed. Only one gear keeps the bike super simple and easy to maintain. With flat handlebars, instead of swept back bars, the Priority Turi isn’t a cruiser bike in its most traditional sense. That said, it’s a super comfortable and mostly upright ride that is an exceptional option for cruising. Finally, manufacturers have also introduced the “comfort bike” category, to combine the soft ride and upright posture of cruisers with a more conventionally styled bike. Comfort bikes have such features as fenders, suspension seatposts and forks, and large padded saddles with giant springs. All of these features are copied from cruisers, but redesigned to look more like regular road or hybrid bikes.
And obviously I’m the CEO of Sixthreezero, but I’m gonna try to do this video in as non-biased as possible, and just really lay it out how I think we’re different, how do our bikes compare. Some front mounted seats, like the Weeride Kangaroo, attach to the frame of the bike. With very swooped, cruiser-style bars, the bars can hit the child when you turn them. We suggest avoiding this style of front-mounted seat if you’re riding a beach cruiser. These days, most beach cruisers offer the option for gears (usually 3 or 7).
