After another few minutes of climbing, we see a waterfall below us. Though there is no room for a tent, it is the most amazing waterfall we have seen yet. We make it to Morgan Fields TH at mile 43 and find our first food cache bucket!! It has been warmer than we anticipated so our winter gear does not need to continue making this trek with us. I leave my puffy, my beanie, my gloves, the extra fuel canister, two spare pairs of socks, the golf ball, and sadly but assuredly, my sleeping bag liner.
All four of these models maximize space and offer several features that make them very livable. The Quick-Set Escape offers a massive, fully enclosed living space, and the Eureka Tagalong dons extra pockets, hooks, and attached sandbags. The center trusses on the Eurmax hang lower than we would prefer, limiting the available headspace, but this is our only caveat. The Tagalong sits a little low and isn’t adjustable, which affects the user’s ability to alter the canopy’s height or angles as the sun’s rays change.
We can see a road down below, the cars and trucks look so small as they pass by, completely unaware of our presence. I spent the last 1.5 years mostly unemployed and healing my traumatic brain injury. It was a grueling task, that felt painstakingly slow and never ending. One could, in theory, purchase a new Ozark canopy every year (which they might need to!) and still come out ahead over the years vs. purchasing a more expensive alternative. We arrive at a short spur trail leading us to the “Rock House”.
Slant leg canopies use less material and have less structural integrity than straight leg canopies. That’s why when you dive into online reviews, you see slant leg tents that have broken ozark trail chair at different connection points, and customers complaining that it failed after only a few uses. The Eureka Tagalong scored slightly lower but still boasted an impressive score.
