After several months of use, here are my favourite and least favourite features of the Shark Rocket Lightweight Corded Stick Vacuum Cleaner. It’s still pretty expensive, but that’s largely inflated by the added Auto-Empty System – if you’re on a budget, you can opt for the vacuum without its base. Her work has previously been published by The New York Times, The Guardian, Psychology Today, and many other shark handheld vacuum publications. When she is not following her dream of an immaculate home and a flood-proof basement, she is taking care of her menagerie and creating magical animal quilts. Several contenders—including the Greenworks 24V Cordless Green Stick Vacuum and the Fabuletta FSV001 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner—had cool LED displays or LCD screens but were incapable of sucking up and holding in debris effectively.
Each round of testing includes a thorough assessment of multiple categories. Plus, along with being one of our favorite Shark vacuums, the multipurpose Shark Vacmop is one of our favorite inexpensive vacuum cleaners, too. There are additional costs that come with ownership, though; the Vacmop is compatible with a cleaning solution and even comes with a small sample of it, but you’ll likely need to restock after a few weeks (for $10 per bottle). While one pad lasted about three days for us, depending on how much we were cleaning, we would love it if this pick used reusable pads.
Nice extras that we didn’t see on other stick vacuums included a capsule to neutralize odors and a wand that flexes in the center to reach under low furniture. The flex wand also allows you to fold the vacuum in half for more compact storage or to stand it on its own without the need for wall mounting. Its cleaning performance on bare floors was very good, but this Shark model struggled with our carpet edge cleaning and pet hair pickup tests. In testing, we found that this pet hair vacuum is extremely easy to maneuver around carpeting and hard floors, and its light weight makes it easy to carry around, too. However, because of its top-heavy design, we discovered the vacuum tips over very easily, even if it’s propped up against something, so be sure to stow it properly when it’s not in use.
Plus, you’ll notice that the gadget has three power modes (eco, normal, and high) for up to 35 minutes of cleaning time, and an LED-illuminated display that shows you when to pause and charge the battery. It’s a reliable partner in my battle against dust, dirt, and especially, pet hair. There are so many options out there with a variety of features that would be satisfactory for my apartment, but it’s tough to figure out which one is the right one for me.
Because I’m typically cleaning in a rush, I’m a fan of vacuums that automatically adjust as you use them. It helps me to focus on deeper cleaning and gives me confidence that I won’t have to run the vacuum over the floor numerous times to actually be effective. The Shark Cordless Detect Pro uses intelligent cleaning tech to pinpoint the amount of dirt in an area, then increases and decreases the suction accordingly.
