It’s a Series 5 50 with a flexing head which as we saw, is really similar performance-wise to a Series 3 ProSkin. The price is usually reasonable and should be easy to source in most countries. You can also buy a solo Series 6 and you can use it with an existing Series 6 station from an older cc model. Shaving with the Series 6 is however more enjoyable thanks to the back-to-forth flexing of the head, but that’s about it. Other embellishments like a highly complex flexing mechanism only look good on the specs sheet and don’t really improve the experience to a significant degree. The Series 6 on the other hand features a basic flexing head that can swivel back to front.
Braun Series 3 electric shavers, for example, cost around $50, whereas Series 9 models cost $250 and above. With the Arc6 on shelves, the Arc5 dropped to a quarter of the cost of the newer toy. The superior standard-setting extra-flexible performance that the Arc5 provided for over a decade. It already had five blades; it’s never missed a spot on a first pass for me, even with week-long facial hair thanks to the trimming bar fixed between those four foil blades. Braun Wet & Dry rechargeable shavers are powered by 2 powerful Ni-MH batteries. However, Braun does back the products with a 2-year limited warranty (excluding foil and cutter blocks).
Braun Series 7 shavers feature AutoSense technology that reads and adapts its power to your beard density, removing more hairs in every stroke. The design is lightweight, but can be a bit bulky compared to more expensive at-home shavers. However, the trade-off in ergonomics gives room for a large rechargeable battery with up to 80 minutes of run time. If you’re a professional, you can get through many haircuts on a single charge, and if you’re exclusively using it on yourself, you can go an impressively long time without charging it.
Schick® has a special razor designed for ease and for anyone who has dry skin. This razor has a built-in conditioning solid that surrounds the razor, so there is no need for shaving cream or other soap. As you shave, the conditioning solid moisturizes skin to make every inch soft and smooth. And while the Arc5 and Arc6’s bevy of foil shavers will provide you with a closer shave than the Braun, it’s going to be nominal to most people. For the past four years, we consulted with Men’s Health’s Grooming editors and writers on the best-performing electric razors for men. If you have a wet and dry use shaver, you can go at your scruff right out of the shower (or even in the shower) after washing your face.
Braun, which turns 100 this year, is still going strong with an extensive line of electric razors. The brand currently has over 20 models on the market, all of which are engineered to deliver a high-quality shaving experience. There’s a lot of marketing mambo jumbo when it comes to selling electric shavers. If you buy a high-quality razor—think a $200 model and above from any of our recommendations—then it’s possible to get several years out of your device. If you neglect to clean your electric shaver, you risk the chance of shortening the razor’s lifespan and also running dirt across your face when shaving. A dirty razor can result in uneven shaving and potentially cause ingrown hairs or acne.
The changing interval is Braun’s standard 18 months, but you can expect that to vary based on how you use the shaver. It’s a high-quality shaving head that resembles the ones of the old Series 5 and 7. The Braun Series 7 70 (360 Flex) braun electric shavers comes with a new shaving head/cassette called 73b (black) and 73s (silver). As we saw above, the outgoing generation was arguably Braun’s most successful line of shavers and one that propelled Braun for many years to the very top.
The GilletteLabs Heated Razor has neither of those attributes, but it is a razor and is technically electric. The trimmer has a slim profile and weighs only 4 ounces, making it easy to control and hold in hand. Despite its small size, its single-speed motor delivers an impressive 6,000 cutting strokes per minute.
