Igloo announces ECOCOOL version of its Trailmate Cooler, made of recycled plastic

The Trailmate all-terrain cooler has been around since 2016 and in so many ways it has broken plenty of records being one of the coolest and most practical coolers. Today, we’re glad to be issuing our Igloo Trailmate All-Terrain Wheeled Cooler review because simply we’ve waited enough to do so. And most importantly, its 70-quart insulated body can keep ice fresh for up to four days — which you’ll need, considering it holds up to 112 oat sodas. Since there is only one size to work with (70 quarts), we decided to vary how much ice we put inside. As you probably would expect, the tests using more ice did better. In the case of the Trailmate Marine, it comes with special UV inhibitors built into the wall.

The Igloo Trailmate Cooler is a new product by Igloo that aims to bring more mobility to a large cooler. By incorporating huge wheels and an intuitive glide handle, the Trailmate turns into a very easy-to-use ice chest that can go over some pretty rough terrain. In addition to this, you will find tons of great additional features and the styling isn’t bad, either. You get a durable, weather-resistant exterior and wildly impressive ice retention thanks to its MaxCold™ Ultra insulated interior — plus, a whole crew of handy adventure-friendly features.

Designed to keep your suds chilled over any terrain Ma’ Nature can muster, the Trailmate Cooler from Igloo sits on rugged, oversized wheels that provide ground clearance of more than 10 inches and promise to never go flat. Why we didn’t quite reach the 4-day mark that Igloo suggested, it wasn’t far off. Most people aren’t going to use this much ice as it would take up way igloo soft cooler too much valuable storage volume. The wheels, which are essential to the operation of these coolers, are made of tough plastic so you don’t have to worry about them popping. And to provide additional support, there are a couple of aluminum stands (with equally aggressive grip) on the front of the cooler. These provide additional stability when the cooler is laid flat.

You will find plenty of storage space inside the insulated area but that is only the beginning. The Igloo Trailmate Cooler also comes with additional storage for your non-chilled items. You will find a special dry storage bin that is perfect for your electronics, wallets, or other items that you want to stay secure and not get wet. For less sensitive items, there is also a large storage pocket directly below the dry storage bin.

It also had two attachments for either fishing poles or an umbrella. I’ll use the umbrella attachment the most, as it’s never a bad idea to find some igloo trailmate cooler extra shade on a hot day. Up against some pretty intense competition, the Igloo Trailmate didn’t turn any heads in our torturous insulation testing.

While we always prefer more size options, if we had to choose just one size, a 70-quart is pretty good. It is large enough to fit all of the food and drinks for a decent-sized group while still not being overly large to the point that it is a challenge to transport and store. But for someone after the maximum storage space, the 70-quart model may prove to be a bit limited. This is great, so everyone has easy access to their cold beverage of choice.

On various events, we found our hand looking for a front handle that doesn’t exist, just to lock onto the lower part of the little white box settled on the front. Tragically, that little white box slides up and off the cooler when you apply pressure — not an incredible handle, so the withdrawn streetcar arm should do. Our most un-most loved angle as far as ease of use is the channel viewed as in this cooler. However it has a igloo trailmate cooler wide channel to assist with exhausting it of meltwater, within the channel likewise is transformed into a projecting passage into the inside by a white plastic cylinder. Why this is a thing, we don’t know, as it made the Trailmate the most un-helpful for discharging by means of channel fitting of any model we tried. With no hooks to play with, the Trailmate is genuinely simple to open when you need a portion of its items.
