What makes me excited about the bike is the possibilities that it opens up, but like a lot of aspects of this bike, it’s something of a double-edged sword. Electric bikes are a ton of fun and I’ve had a great time this summer riding them. As an avid cyclist who commuted to and from the train for years in the past, I see e-bikes as a very reasonable step forward in commuting. Aluminum frame with formed top tube design provides plenty of clearance.
The bike comes with all electronics installed so that you can get on it as quick as possible. Something really cool that we are doing is that now I we increased the front wheel size for better control at high speeds and better bump handling. It uses a 29in tire and wheel in the front and then we keep the rear with a 26in wheel and tire to still provide a good torque on the bike, for a faster acceleration. The included kickstand is also nice because it mounts near the back wheel so it doesn’t get in the way when you need to back the bike up while the kickstand is down.
We have a video that details electric bike assembly and with a few basic tools you’ll be out and about in a matter of minutes. We’ve also put together a guide for new electric bike riders that details each step you should take before you ride. Longer distances and steep hills are no problem when you have a pedal assist motor and throttle to add a little extra oomph to your ride. Go faster than last year (and the year before that!) with one of our zippy electric bikes. E-bikes put extra power behind every pedal so you can ride further, faster, and over steeper hills on your journey to health and happiness. Battery range and top speed can vary depending on rider height and weight, and riding conditions like hills or wind.
This frame style makes it easier to get on and off the bike, and an upright riding position is easier on the lower back. The frame is also designed to be lighter for easier handling, and includes wider tires for extra stability. Examples of this style include both the Coston DX and Mendocino Step-Thru models. And at the end of the day, we’re talking about an affordable cruiser, so I didn’t expect to find high-end shifters, hydraulic disc brakes, or suspension on the bike. The Shimano Tourney shifter, mechanical disc brakes, and plushy spring saddle are enough for me.
Well, get ready for this, because the Schwinn EC1 electric bicycle gives that same old feel of a classic Schwinn cruiser but adds a nice, firm electric boost to your ride. And it’s currently on sale for a killer price of just $898. This bike comes equipped with front, rear, and bottom lights.
Over the years, Schwinn has empowered millions of people, earning a special place in the hearts and minds of generations of riders. We have spent over a century building the bicycle industry into what it is today, and we’re not done yet. Schwinn e-bikes are available for purchase right here on the Schwinn website! Schwinn e-bikes are also available through Dick’s Sporting Goods, where select models are available for an in-store test ride.
Speaking of which, check out my video below to see the bike’s performance and features in action, including those cool frame lights. The rear rack offers plenty of cargo space for backpacks or picnic baskets, while the under-seat storage compartment is great for your keys, wallet, and other small items. Staying active is a whole lot easier when you have fun and look good doing it. Our comfort hybrid bikes bring schwinn ebike classic styling to modern functionality for rides that are all about taking it easy (but not too easy!). Electric bikes put extra power behind every pedal so you can ride farther, take on bigger hills, and enjoy cycling more than ever before. And with a step-through-ish frame courtesy of the medium height top tube, this is one e-bike that can be a classy ride for that special man or woman in your life.
The front and rear lights are attached to the fenders while the bottom lights are part of the battery itself. If it’s a bright night and you just want some visibility, the bottom lights work well. Otherwise, the headlight is adjustable to your preference, and the rear light is built into the fender itself. The Coston e-bike is controlled with a handlebar-mounted LED panel with three buttons on the side. Below, we’ve put together an easy-to-use guide on picking the best Schwinn e-bike for you.
