Mendocino 2 Step-Thru Electric Bike

So, while my doctor, my therapist, and I all unpack that, this is my full review of the Coston CE e-bike from Schwinn. Your bike will be shipped via one of our trusted freight carriers. It will arrive 99% assembled, you will just have to install the pedals and set the handle bar straight with the tools provided and you are ready to go!

Visit friends or explore downtown with the Schwinn Marshall E-Bike. The best bike for you depends on how you will be using it. You’ll need to consider the type of terrain and style of riding you prefer, as well as how far you want to ride before recharging the battery. For example the Healy Ridge and Ridgewood e-bikes are great for trails and other off-road rides, whereas the Mendocino is perfect for casual cruising around the neighborhood. If you’re looking for a great all-around e-bike that can do a little bit of everything, check out our Coston and Marshall e-bikes. Most of our e-bikes are available with both stand-over and step-thru frames, so you can pick the right frame style for you.

By comparison, my poor, neglected Trek bike weighs around 25 pounds. That’s a big difference when you’re picking up the bike to turn it around or put it on a car rack. On the other hand, in the time I’ve had an e-bike, I have barely touched my poor Trek bike. E-biking is very powerful and addictive, and it has ruined traditional cycling for me, and I can’t decide if that’s a good thing.

Schwinn e-bikes deliver the same great riding experience with the addition of pedal assist motors and rechargeable batteries that let you roam farther than ever before. Choose your level of assistance or ride without it completely. Select models feature a throttle, which makes it easy to get going from a stop. Of course, some of that weight is in the 288-watt battery which Schwinn adversities as being good for up to 35 miles of range. We’ll get into the range in a moment, but the rest of the bike is fairly standard fare for any bike.

For commuters and people who run errands, that’s not always going to be the case. Integrated LED lights on the battery add to the sleek, modern look while helping others to see you on low light rides. Integrated headlights and battery operated taillights are also included for improved see and be-seen visibility.

The Coston e-bike is a good example of that in a much more approachable price range than some others. The LED controls are nice, but also missing some functionality. I understand that I’m a big guy, and I’m also about 50 pounds over the maximum advertised weight for this bike.

Electric bikes are very similar to analog bikes – with a few key extras of course! Scroll through the carousel to learn about the unique features of our e-bikes. But even the mid- to low-end Shimano parts are perfectly fine for this level of bike. The Schwinn EC1 is one of those simple e-bikes that can reliably bring a smile to your face. So buckle up and check out the video review of the Schwinn EC1 below, then read on for all the tech specs and juicy details.

Plus, the comfortable upright riding position makes riding a delight. 6-speed twist shifter offers smooth, reliable gear changes. Easily adapt to your terrain – hills, flat areas, and everything in between – with just a twist. For seniors, we recommend an e-bike with a step-thru frame and upright riding position.

Front and rear mechanical disc brakes deliver all-weather stopping power and speed control. You can ride with confidence through rain, dust, and more. Select Schwinn e-bikes include a headlight and taillight to help you see and be seen during low-light rides. The Coston and Marshall e-bikes also have lights along the battery for additional visibility and a sleek, modern look. The Coston e-bike comes with a typical brick-on-a-string charger that plugs into a normal 110v outlet. Schwinn advertises that it takes about four hours to charge.

But it’s one of the least expensive ones you can buy from a bike company. Respectfully, most of the e-bikes you find online come from companies with alphabet-soup for names that may sell just as many portable batteries as they do e-bikes. The first thing you’ll notice about the Coston CE e-bike schwinn beach cruiser is that is built like a tank, which is both good and bad. It’s good because everything on the bike feels solid and borderline rugged. The downside is this bike feels about as heavy as a light-armored vehicle. The bike tops out at around 57 pounds, which is tank-like in the biking world.
