I use mine DAILY in cooking and it has never let me down. I bought this little stove because it was cheap, point blank. I used it with the canisters for a while and was very surprised as to the efficiency of this stove. Now you’ll have a quality regulator that is easily replaceable in the future.
The lowest height in the tent, which is at the four corners, is about 65 inches. This is slightly taller than my height, so I could stand up everywhere inside the Ozark ozark trail canopy Trail Tent, even at the corners. The entire Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent takes about 10 minutes to set up, when my brother and I were setting it up together (2 people).
Inside the end where the screw-on piece goes into the stove it has to be blown out and the little brass piece that is on the regulator has to be tightened by hand as well. Make sure all of the regulator is cleaned off of all or any dirt or debris that may be present on the regulator. We’ve scouted the best routes, from easy day hikes to epic overnight bike-packing.
This ended up being my only night with other people on the entire trail. My next water source was Mint Spring and when I got there, two backpackers were getting ready to leave. It took a long time to collect water from the shallow spring, so they were long gone by the time I was ready. Summer may be coming to an end, but if you’re already looking ahead to camping trips next year, you might want to check out an amazing deal right now at Walmart. The 6 wall poles are made of steel, I think, but they’re probably not stainless steel, because I found some rust on one of these steel poles.
Ozark Trail tents are pretty much all “fair-weather” shelters, but dome tents get the advantage here. Second, Ozark Trail tents are affordable because they use very basic materials. All Ozark Trail poles are either steel alloy or fiberglass, and the fabrics used throughout the tent are typically on the thinner side. Again, not a deal-breaker, but don’t expect these tents to stand up to the same use and abuse as their premium alternatives from brands.
Just slide the roof poles into place, then plug the side and corner poles into their designated hubs and raise it all up. Two people can get this cabin set up in about five minutes, but setting the 2 Room Cabin up solo isn’t out of the question either. Layout wise is virtually identical to the Core Instant Cabin we evaluated for our 10 person tent roundup, but delivers those same massive interior dimensions for about $100 less.
A bushwhack to Eleven Point River and 20 minutes of rest and water-gathering helped. The highlight of the day came at mile 9.4 – Brockman Spring. I nearly walked by it without seeing it, and that would have been a tragedy. It is perhaps the coolest spring I have ever seen. I ate lunch there and drank as much as possible — it was getting hot. Spiffyguy had plans to meet a friend at the next trailhead north and shuttle back.
Second, the fabric feels thin, and a few users have reported ripping it during setup, so you’ll need to take your time both setting up and taking down this tent. It’s designed to resemble the sorts of cabins that’ll remind mom and dad of summers spent camping at local state parks or the regional Boy or Girl Scout camp. Beyond aesthetics, this A-frame cabin tent combines size (a spacious 14′ x 12′ with 113-inch center height) with simplicity (it’s made for easy set-up and pack-down). Comfort’s in play, as well, with this spacious option fitting two queen-sized air mattresses, which cover enough space for 12 sleeping bags.
Light wind and rain should be fine, but you’ll want to take some steps to prepare for both (more on that below). Having room to spread out inside a tent is great, but unless it’s after dark or raining, chances are you won’t be spending any more time inside your shelter than you absolutely have to. Nobody wants to spend all day sitting in direct sunlight either though, and that’s where a tent with a screen room like this Ozark Trail 9 Person Cabin comes into play. This isn’t an instant tent, but ease of use is still a high point of this model thanks to the simple setup.
When you’re looking at what you want in a tent, consider how many people are going to be using it. Is it for a large family or just used short camping trips? If you’re going to use air mattresses, be sure it fits your size ozark trail canopy of mattress (most tents can fit a queen size air mattress). 15 really hard miles. The miles weren’t that hard, really — but I hadn’t slept. I packed up in the wind and night-hiked to the spur trail to Brushy Creek Lodge.
