Whether you’re trying to beat the cold inside or outside your tent, the heater is easily carried by its handle and just big enough to provide relief for one or two people. I’m looking into getting a small tent for my first camping excursion. However, I know that I don’t truly want to sink $100 into a tent. I love the tent’s size but has little leaks in the corners. I have used it quite frequently and rate this average. The waterproof is good and has endured many a rainstorm.
I don’t see why you would spend more money on the more expensive sun shades, when the Ozark Trail did such a great job. We took it out of bag carrier it came in, and were able to get it assembled in about 5 minutes. The box says 30 seconds, which will be true every subsequent time we now set it up. A subreddit for campers concerned more about the act of camping and less concerned about hiking long distances or light gear.
The Ozark Trail instant sun shade was incredibly easy to put up and even easier to take down. This will be coming with us to the beach and any sporting outings where we will be exposed to the weather. We used this tent a few times and lost the rain fly, first time we used it rained and didn’t have problem but the zipper broke and got stuck. The second time we used I can’t find a new rain fly anyway. We bought this tent maybe 4 years ago they shouldn’t discontinue a line so fast. That upsets me because they know if you can’t get new parts you will buy a new one, not right or eco friendly.
If you ever make one let me know where to buy it. This tent is ok…I bought with the money that I had saved up and I really wanted a cool looking tent. I think that this 35 dollar tent could outlast the expensive ones. Mine is red and black and the rainfly covers everything except for a tiny place to get in.
It has plenty of sleeping space and storage space as well. When the thing finally wore out I thought I would spring for something with a little bit more room. I got a 16′ x 10.5′ family Dome tent by Ozark Trail. The thing was fairly complex and that it was kind of mediocre, my main complaint is, unlike my Hillary it was absolutely not waterproof at all. It seemed like the rain came right through the top and formed a large puddles on the tent floor. I had a Hillary tent that I had brought from Sears.
Every single one of our camping experiences has been ruined because of the OZARK tent. I would like a response to this ozark trail screen house please and I do expect some compensation of some kind! Every time we put some faith in these tents we got let down.
The only reason I bought a new tent was for more space, which this tent provided at a resonable price. Setup was typical for this size tent – definitely a two person job. We planned on camping for a week and ended up only camping for five days because of the tent’s incapacity to keep us dry. I bought this tent and was very dissatisfied, two off the poles snapped right where they connect in the silver part. I would not recommend this brand to anyone. This is the first time to use this tent so it was brand new.
We’ll be buying Coleman from here on out. I got soaked when it drizzled for a hour or so. I will be going with a Coleman on the next purchase. Trust me, it’s worth the money when you are soaking wet a long distance from your car. The design change I want to comment on concerns the little “laundry room” that protrudes out the back of the tent.
But the only problem i got is that the poles are falling apart because of the elastic cording inside them is rotted out. I can’t find anywhere to fix the problem so i will have to retire it and buy a new one soon. Also using a ground cover under the tent (seems obvious to me) will help prevent water from coming in from the underside of the tent.
There is only one shade, which can be put on either side of the sun shelter. You just angle the shelter where you need it, then attach the shade. First off, this is an affordable solution for a sun shelter. It’s not ozark trail screen house jam packed with all the bells and whistles that some of the other sun shades have, but the price was right, and it’s more than serving it’s purpose. When I first set up this tent I was surprised how HUGE it was.
