The trail led us through another beautiful stand of pines and eventually to the forest service road. We followed the road uphill to the fire tower, but chose not to climb it. With that being said, there are a few things you’ll want to know going into your purchase. First, all Ozark Trail tents should be considered “fair-weather” shelters. That doesn’t mean they all leak when it rains or collapse when it’s windy, but they simply aren’t built for bad weather.
It also comes with a rainfly that keeps the interior dry even when the weather is less than ideal. The assembled weight of this tent is 55.2 pounds, and it’s suitable for all seasons. This tent features seven windows and ground vents as well as a large door and two internal room dividers.
However, Coleman is known to have slightly better quality tents, with better materials and seams. You can easily find one-person tents for less than 50 dollars; also, the brand offers grand-sized family tents for less than 200 dollars. The brand promises tents with lots of space, ample ventilation, easy assembly, and lots of storage options. The Ozark Trail Dome Tents line features a series of compact tents that are excellent for camping trips and festivals. Despite the small size, the dome shape provides you with ample head space when inside the tent. If you’re a frequent backpacker or hiker, you need a tent that’s light to carry and easy to pack.

The carry bag seems to be of okay quality, and it can be made bigger for easier packing up. It wasn’t too difficult to get the tent, poles and all other accessories back into the carry bag. The zippers worked fine for the windows, but kept snagging on the door because of this rain cover. My other tents with similar designs did not have this serious of a snagging problem. The single door measures about 54 by 39 inches in dimensions, although it’s about 62 inches from the floor to the top of the door.
This outdoor brand offers a wide selection of products at a very reasonable price point. Ozark Trail offers a cheap alternative to expensive, well-known brand outdoor equipment. An extended, challenging backpacking or camping trip requires dependable gear. But at the same time, prudent campers are also unwilling to spend exorbitant amounts of money on tents and gadgets that are overkill for what they know they need.
