A valid Metroparks daily or annual boat pass, in addition to your vehicle pass, is required. If your boat (canoe, kayak or rowboat) is transported into the park inside or on top of your vehicle, you do not have to purchase a Boat Pass. Annual Boat Passes can be purchased at any Metropark toll booth or online. An 8.5 mile paved Hike-Bike Trail traverses the picturesque landscapes that circle Kent Lake. Kensington Metropark and Island Lake State Recreation Area is connected via a paved connector going underneath I-96. Your wagon rides take you on a tour of the woods and fields around the Farm Center, giving you views of nature and water.

At a Council Meeting in September 2021, Council resolved to explore more design options for the Kent Road, Pascoe Vale Trial Bike Lane project in consultation with the community. In June 2021, we installed trial separated bicycle lanes in Kent Road as well as other sites in Pascoe Vale to create the “Coburg to Glenroy Bicycle Link”. This is a low-stress cycling route, suitable for kent hybrid bike cyclists of all confidence levels, that safely and effectively connects to shops, schools, open space and community facilities. These trials allow us to gather community feedback, research effectiveness, and optimise our long-term plans for improving road and cycling safety in Merri-bek. The car park system is operated on behalf of Betteshanger Park by Park With Ease Limited. You can pay at any time during your visit or online at up to 48 hours after your visit. We operate a barrier-less admission system which uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. You can enter Betteshanger on foot or by bicycle for free. There are no charges to use the cycle tracks, trails or the play area.
