Genesis 26″ Men’s V2100 Dual-Suspension Bicycle Genesis Mountain Bikes

Let me end this with that fact that the Incline was a good $75 cheaper, and offers an awesome bang for the buck! It would be awesome for someone that wants to get started, but knows they will get a completely different bike down the road, and doesn’t want to upgrade it. As I mentioned with the Incline, the Boundary has this functionality.

Mat has been in cycling media since 1996, on titles including BikeRadar, Total Bike, Total Mountain Bike, What Mountain Bike and Mountain Biking UK, and he has been editor of 220 Triathlon and Cycling Plus. Mat has been road.cc technical editor for over a decade, testing bikes, fettling the latest kit, and trying out the most up-to-the-minute clothing. We send him off around the world to get all the news from launches and shows too. He has won his category in Ironman UK 70.3 and finished on the podium in both marathons he has run.

So the first mountain bikes with 19lb wheels and 650b wheels that were pre-existing, that weighed five, six, seven pounds, there just wasn’t any performance with them. I had the lightest bike, but I still could barely break forty pounds,” said Ritchey. 3 gears at the pedals and 7 gears at the rear wheel make up a 21-speed drivetrain, a relatively rare genesis bicycles multi-drive system in mountain bikes of the same price range. Perhaps Ritchey’s most lasting contribution to mountain biking is his focus on performance. It was Tom Ritchey who pushed for the lightest wheels, the lightest and most responsive frames, the strongest tubesets for those frames, the best tires, and the lightest and strongest components.

It’s very easy for someone who hardly knows how to assemble a bike. But for its relatively narrow 26″ x 2.1″ tires, riding in the mud was a bigger challenge. So we came to the relatively dry, stone-paved forest road single track. After I felt comfortable genesis mountain bike with it, I aimed for a short uphill at about 50° or so. But I stood on the pedals and pedaled hard, not expecting the forward pedaling to be that strenuous. It was a stalemate for about 30 seconds, and without any incident, I fell off the bike.

“Thank you @genesisbikesuk for letting me go wild with this bike!! And if any of you were wondering what the extra part on the head tube is… the genius @robhayles1 added a little bit of carbon to hide my cables. Genesis bikes are manufactured by Genesis Bicycles, a company specializing in producing affordable bikes for various cycling disciplines, including mountain biking, road cycling, and urban commuting. It’s a little bit of a waste if you’re not going to let it loose in the wild every now and again. The V2100 is designed for moderate to intermediate trails and handles the bumps pretty well. That being said, it’s better to stick to trails with less gravel; you should switch out the tires if you plan on tackling trails with really gravelly surfaces.

Plus, plus that headtube/stem/fork is just, well there are no words. Overall, this is designed to be a starter bike, and it’s a great way to introduce your kids to a better class of cycling. You don’t have to tweak much in terms of setting it up, and all you need to do is jump on and ride. This bike is aimed more at beginners or intermediate riders; advanced riders will want an upgraded model instead.

Tom Ritchey Sr. was also an avid cyclist who taught his son how to repair tubulars, and by age 15, to braze frames. An accomplished Junior racer, Tom Ritchey Jr. built his first frame in 1972, using it as his own personal race bike and using it to good effect in local races, and he was later selected to the U.S. Once the frame building bug bit him, however, Ritchey dove headfirst into the pursuit, approaching it with his characteristic enthusiasm and zeal.

An early, 650b Ritchey mountain bike, since retro-fitted with drop handlebars. He was into his niche of independent thinkers, and he had a bike with a brazen white decal that he custom made on the top tube that said “No Campagnolo”. Back in the early and mid-seventies, having a bike that said No Campagnolo was sacrilege. His bucket-list goal was to ride every dirt road in California, and he wanted to do it on his Woodsy bike. It’s a little bit bling but positivly understated compared to Blytheys.. Which lets be honest, would have been ‘pretty trick’ if he’d not let a pissed up Rob Hayes loose on it.
