A step-thru version offers a slightly lower top bar than the regular version. This would be a fine choice for younger or beginner e-bike riders thanks to its excellent lighting and comfortable layout — if, that is, its price were a few hundred dollars lower. Leading e-bike companies like Story Bikes state that you should expect a 10-year lifespan out of any electric bicycle you purchase. Of course, you will only get this kind of long lifespan if you properly care for your Schwinn e-bike. If this is your first e-bike, take some time to learn about proper maintenance techniques and processes for its electrical and mechanical components.
But I wasn’t looking for a free ride; I wanted the exercise, so I didn’t plan to make much use of the throttle. Still, it would be a good help for getting home if a rider became exhausted. The previous owner can be a person but also can be a bike shop schwinn beach cruiser or the manufacturer directly. Indeed more than 50% of our stock comes directly from overstock of retailers/manufacturers, that is why the communicated mileage is often below 5 miles. You can find all these bikes here, these are all brand new bikes.
Speaking of which, check out my video below to see the bike’s performance and features in action, including those cool frame lights. I really enjoyed my time with Schwinn’s Monroe 250 Single-Speed Electric Bike and was sad when it came time for Pacific schwinn dealers Cycle — Schwinn’s parent company — to take it back. It was such a joy to ride around and truly turned me in favor of e-bikes (something I never thought possible). On a subsequent test climb, I experimented with the throttle while not pedaling at all.
The Marshall has a 6061 aluminum frame with internal cable routing, along with JAK 7 mechanical disc brakes with a 180mm front rotor and 160mm rear rotor. At the front of the Schwinn Marshall is a 27.5”, Hi-Ten steel fork with 100m travel. This offers plenty of cushion for off-road riding, or in case you hit any potholes on the way to work. Its 288 Wh battery is internally housed in the downtube and can power the Marshall for 35 miles per charge (which takes just 4 hours). The motor is a 250W brushless geared hub drive motor, and you can control all the power from the 7-function LCD controller. Never before has an electric bike been as easy to use as one of the four Schwinn electric bikes.
When I pedaled hard, the bike was able to get up to 20 mph in about 10 seconds on smooth, flat surfaces. Pedaling uphill was a bit different, maxing out at roughly 15 mph. Lighter people may be able to get it going a bit faster, though (I weigh 250 pounds for context). There are five speeds you can adjust via the bike’s thumb pad controller located on the left handle.
Our mission is to empower you to find the product you’re looking for and get exactly the information you need to make the right buying decision. We independently research and identify the top products on the Internet. We’re going to tell you all the similarities and differences between the four Schwinn e-bikes, so stay tuned. The rear wheel can be easily removed for transport or storage. Based on the distance required to stop from the bike’s top speed. If you leave the battery in the bike, there is a rubber port cover you need to move before plugging in the bike.
The frame is the same 6061 aluminum with internal cable routing. However, the same 250W brushless geared hub drive motor is present, as well as the 7-function LCD controller. It’s the large battery with a five-hour recharge time that separates the Coston DX from the others. With a top speed of 20mph and the choice of pedal-assist or throttle power modes, you will have plenty of choices when it comes to unleashing the power of the motor. The MicroShift components offer great value at this price point, as does the KMC chain and 42T crank. At level 5, the throttle propels you up to 20 miles per hour and disengages if you go faster than that (for example, if you go downhill).
The fully assembled bike appeared larger than the display photo had led me to expect. In fact, I briefly wondered if I’d mistakenly been sent the L/XL size instead of the S/M. I am 5’7″ and the bike fit me fine with the seat post in the lowest position, so it’s likely riders slightly taller could also use this size.
