The Screen House Shelter packs into a reasonably roomy drawstring bag with a strap that makes the canopy tent much easier to transport than tents, like the L.L.Bean, that lack a strap. We eliminated canopies that were not big enough to comfortably shelter a picnic table, concluding that a table is probably the number-one spot where campers would place such a structure. We also eliminated bulky, heavy shelters that are intended to be used as semipermanent backyard fixtures. A lower roof makes this shelter feel notably smaller than our top pick, but it’s also durably made and ready to pair with a superior rain fly (sold separately).

The fully netted and sealed floor performs quite well on warm days and bug-filled nights, but outside of that, it just doesn’t stack up. Now that we’ve convinced you that you need a top-quality screen tent for your camp, you just need to know what to get. If your goal is to really keep those critters out and away from your party, then you need doors, walls, and a floor.
When stowed, it measures approximately 34 x 74 cm and weighs around 19.5 kg. The tent has a water pressure resistance of 3,000 mm for the fly and bedroom, and 2,000 mm for the floor and living room. The materials used include 75D polyester taffeta for the fly and roof, 68D polyester taffeta for the inner, and 210D polyester oxford for the floor. The Coleman has even more extra space at 120 square feet of floor area. But with this extra size means extra set-up time at 3 minutes and a whopping 45 pounds folded down. The tent took our team 14 minutes and 20 seconds to pitch fully — much longer than the majority of our other tents and with much more frustration.
With 90 sq ft of interior space and an additional 40 sq ft of vestibule space, you will have plenty of square footage. The main tent will easily fit a full and a twin air mattress, while the vestibule will hold two chairs, a table, and then some. However, both areas are short, with a max height of 5′ 8″ — which is only at the top dead center. The vestibule area is a little shorter than that at 5′ 4″, forcing most campers to duck and change sitting down.
