The rain fly is with taped seams but it covers only the roof. The poles attach to the tent through a combination of sleeves on the roof and clips, plus the usual pin-and-ring system at the base of the tent, see the picture below. The Ozark Trail Screen House is 13 feet long and nine feet wide, with a standing space that tops out at seven feet high. The tent fabric roof provides shade for 46 square feet of the room. The Screen House is spacious enough for six people, or more around a folding table in an uninterrupted 360-degree panoramic shelter.

It’s even spacious enough to fit a full-size picnic table inside for 6-8 people, which is helpful when eating in a humid, bug-infested campsite. The three-room cabin is definitely one of Ozark Trail’s more expensive models though, so if you’re shopping on a budget, there are plenty of other models worth considering. The Clip & Camp dome is particularly affordable, and also happens to be one of the most dependable models the brand currently makes.

Another way to use the skirt is to bury it (not all camping locations have this option, though), so the tent is completely anchored to the ground. The sloped wall means that the height at the edge of the tent is lower than the height at the peak and, in some instances, could be uncomfortably short. Whether you’re an RVer living out of your RV year-round, or you like making road trips all year, you need a big screened shelter to enjoy living partially outside. The remainder of the shelter body is made of 150D polyesters (also reasonably heavy duty) with a PU 2000 mm waterproof rating.

Additionally, the poles are made from aluminum, and there are two doors for easy access throughout the space. And especially with the rain panels down, wind can hit the side of the screen house and may cause some jostling. Another thing to note is that this is a cabin-style screen house, meaning it’s a big block. That said, the frame of this screen tent is alloy steel (aka a mix of steel and other metal), so it should be reasonably durable. However, if you’re planning to camp a little further from your vehicle, the Core Instant Screen House Canopy Tent is one of the lightest options for a portable screen house out there.

The outer material is UV sun-protected, and there are large mesh windows for ventilation. It’s easy to set up with one person in under 10 minutes and comes with a floor. The center height is very tall at seven and a half feet and features a straight wall design making it plenty big enough to fit over a picnic table. The one thing I’ll note is that this tent doesn’t hold up as well for continuous use, but frankly, none of these screen tents are designed to be permanent fixtures in your yard.

Wrap the velcro tape , located inside the screen house, around the poles to secure them. When the screen house is in its proper location, stake it down by driving stakes through the four D-rings located on at the corners. Broke all four corner hubs and bent all 1b poles beyond repair. Now unable to get all the parts I need to make it worth repairing. It seems like I am the second person to review this product, and the second one to give it a 1 Star rating. Goes together well, but as soon as we got a little shower….

High-quality screen tents can help you do that with relative comfort. The one exception to the rule here is for the larger cabin-style tents, especially those with an “instant tent” design that uses pre-attached poles. This screened-in shelter also gets high points for its price, which is always a selling point with an Ozark Trail tent, but this one represents a particularly good value considering all its features. Each of the cabin’s three rooms includes its own privacy divider, and each is large enough to fit a queen-sized mattress as well, so it’s a great option for large groups or families.
