We have picnic shelters available at Kensington Metropark for all your event and gathering needs. They come in a wide range of sizes and locations within the parks. Some are conveniently located near park amenities like beaches, pools, playgrounds and sports fields to add even more fun to your event – while others are more secluded for a more intimate event. ASPEN TRAIL – 1.5 MILES
A 1.5 mile trail of compact gravel with wooden boardwalks and wooden bridges. This relatively flat trail contains both shady sections and full sun exposure and features one shortcut allowing you to shorten the loop to 1 mile. Passing through prairies, wetlands and mixed forest habitats, this trail offers opportunities to see abundant wildflowers, pileated woodpeckers and the remains of a historic homestead.
They’ve got five road bikes, eleven mountain bikes, and seven hybrid bikes. The great thing is, they’ve got something for everyone, whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been riding for years. Millennium Park isn’t just a place for summertime activities – The trails are also busy in the winter, with cross country skiers, snowshoe hikers, bikers, and even snow runners! The main recreation area of the park is closed in winter, but we do offer an off-season parking lot on the east side of Maynard Ave. The trailhead at Butterworth and O’Brien is also open in the winter for parking. Please note that all restrooms in the park are closed between November 1 and April 30.

All of the lakes at the park are open to regular fishing. However, ice fishing is not allowed anywhere in the kent hybrid bike park. There are also some restrictions on fishing locations along shorelines near the main recreation area.
