Kent Bikes is a UK-based bicycle manufacturer that produces a wide range of bicycles for all types of riders. Their bikes are known for being high quality and reliable, and they offer a wide range of models to suit all budgets. While a hyper bike is a cost-effective choice, the cost increases exponentially as you crave for a better set of wheels. A fancy mountain bike used by the pros can set you back by almost 3-5 grands, even high-end indoor bikes like the Peloton and the newer model Peloton Plus don’t cost that much.
We don’t blame you for mistaking it to be Hyper Bicycles, the bicycle brand with a fair bit of repute amongst BMX Racing & freestyle cyclists. Hyper was established in the 1990s by Clay Goldsmid, a former BMX Pro. It’s a good starter bike, however it should be noted it’s not a perfect fit for everyone. It’s really a boys bike since I am 6’1″ and it’s just small for anyone over 5’6″-5’8″.
Ultimately the true decision is your when it comes to whether or not you choose to buy this bike, but as a mountain bike there are far better options out there. Campagnolo uses a single freehub design for 9-, 10-, 11- and 12-speed cassettes, while the newest N3W freehub also accepts 13-speed hyper bicycles cassettes. Like Shimano/SRAM, there’s differential spline spacing to ensure that you can only mount the individual cassette sprockets in one position and one orientation. There’s also a different lock ring, incompatible with Shimano’s, used to secure the cassette on the freehub.
The seat of the bike is one of the major distinctions between the normal mountain bike and the hyper bicycles. The suspension system that the Hyper uses is simply a shock absorber that allows for long, comfortable rides on smooth surfaces. Of course, a bicycle remains reliable if it is used as designed. Make sure you use your machine properly and maintain it regularly.
Aggressive geometry and aero tubing combine to create a race-winning bike. For those who like the steep stuff, the SLC is our all-out climber. If you like it rough; the G2 is the perfect start to any gravel or all-road build. Just like the other bikes in Liv’s hybrid range, the Alight 2 disc features an ALUXX aluminum frame, which is Giant’s (Liv’s Parent brand) signature alloy across their range of hybrids.
