The Genesis bike’s aluminium frame is not only strong but also durable. These steel-tube endurance bikes are perfect for long highway rides because they reduce road noise. These frames can accommodate panniers and mudguards, increasing their versatility. The exterior cable routing and threaded bottom brackets will please mechanics. V2100 from genesis mountain bike is just what the doctor ordered for on and off-road exercise, and fun.
If you’re a roadie, Genesis has a few models for you to consider. The Montane Icemen (Pete Sissons and Paul Cosgrove) underlined the bikes capabilities as they used a pair of Croix de Fers to circumnavigate the 1600-mile coastline of Iceland in 14 days. Genesis bikes became renowned for their use of steel tubing and ethos for function over form. Due to the extra weight of electric bikes, we are unable to ship these fully assembled. Instead, your bike will be built, configured and checked by our mechanics before being packed back into it’s original box.
Genesis created the personalities and graphics for bikes built for the world’s diverse cultures. You can see our work for Giant in the grueling Tour de France, on Tokyo commuter streets, and in a garage much like your own. For a bike of this range, the models are very satisfactory.
In this range there are also women’s specific models – in addition to the unisex ones. With these bikes, the saddles have been changed for a women specific model as well as shorter cranks and narrower handlebars being specced to better suit female proportions. Despite being already expansive, the Genesis Bikes brand continues to grow, with the British company striking out even further to the gravel/adventure cross market. Your bike frame & fork are protected under our Lifetime Warranty policy. If you’re in the market for a more porteur-style bike, the Brixton is where Croix de Fer meets cargo.
As with the Day One, there are mudguards, rear pannier rack, and an internally geared rear hub for all weather dependability. But more than that, there’s front and rear dynamo lights, so you never need worry about forgetting/neglecting to charge your lights. An internally geared hub goes a long way to weather proofing the drivetrain, as do the full housed gear cables that help stop dirt degrading your shifting performance.
In contrast to rim brakes, disc brakes can handle tyres up to 30 c. The Croix de Fer is probably Genesis’ flagship bike, much loved by adventurers and commuters alike. It’s the ultimate all-round all-terrain machine, with a hardy steel frameset, disc brakes, relaxed geometry and mounts for all the additional fittings you might need. The Croix de Fer comes in three steel options (10, 20 and 30) as well as a titanium model.
The Genesis brand was created in the UK in 2006 by H Young Holdings (owner of the distributor Sportline UK). YouTube’s privacy policy is available here and YouTube’s terms of service is available here. Trek will fill all orders placed before it takes over as store owner. Bike service must be completed before Trek takes over, the site says.
Gravel bikes are what everyone wants right now, says Erin Fagan, the events coordinator (and more) at genesis mountain bike in Easton. For Erin, being so close to the trail is a huge advantage since beginners are nervous riding on the road with cars. The Fugio is a rowdier bike than the Croix de Fer, more suited to playing around on the trails and using the bumps as a platform to get some air. The dropper seatpost, slacker head angle, shorter chainstays and clearance for tyres up to 50mm wide on 650b wheels are responsible for this more playful handling. Essentially an aluminium version of the Croix de Fer, the CDA features a similar plethora of mounts and wide clearances but comes in at a significantly lower price.
