Getting our hands dirty with one of the best sun shelters on the market. Digging our toes in the sand under one of the best full-overhead coverage beach tents on the market. A frequent reader of our site put the lightweight Cool Cabana pop up beach canopy to the test during a West Coast vacation. The Ozark Trail 8×8 Instant Sun Shade did exactly what we needed it to.
We did take it to the beach on a day that had a little wind. It held up well and the stakes held pretty good. ozark trail sun shade I’m not sure how it will hold up in super windy conditions as I have not been able to test that yet.
The privacy panel can be attached to either side of the shelter so you can stay protected as the sun moves throughout the day. Easy-to-fill sand bag pockets are attached at the corners of the sun shade to keep the shelter stable in windy environments. Roof vents help with ventilation to keep you cool and the shade provides UV 50 plus protection. The floor space provides 64 square feet of shade and 59-inch ceiling height provides ample interior space. An additional privacy panel is included for even more shade and protection and can be attached to either side of the shelter.
It would be good for summer camping in the sun shade mode, or backyard camping for the kids, but I don’t know if I would risk it for backpacking. It is not very heavy, and not poorly constructed, but it just isn’t sturdy or waterproof. Spend a little more money and get a better tent. A square, about 6′ x 6′, with X-arrange fiberglass poles. You set up the fly first and it forms a sun shade, then you hook in the tent underneath.
Extending them was the part that took us a bit to figure out. Once we understood that the poles retracted, it popped right up! If that’s kind of confusing, watch the video above, it explains and shows it better. Our proprietary tech ensures that recalled items are never listed.
Also note that you must choose the same color for both tumblers or you will not be able to add this bundle to your cart. I set up the tent by myself in a few minutes. There are all hooks, that you hook into the poles, so it is quick, but not the most secure. You could probably do it in the dark, if you ozark trail instant canopy had to. In windy conditions high stress is applied to each side and the frame begins to break down at the unreinforced joint connectors. Adventure is where memories are made, whether it’s campouts in the back yard with the kids, Saturdays at the river with friends, or a week in the wilderness alone.
