Born out of a garage in SoCal back in 1974, Mongoose has a BMX bike for riders of all ages and ability levels. Skip Hess started BMX Products, Inc. out of his home in Simi Valley, California in September 1974 with his first product being the famous Motomag One wheel. According to Hess, at its largest stage of expansion, BMX Products, schwinn mountain bicycles Inc. employed about 85 people. In its early years Hess recalled that about 600 frames per day were produced at its Chatsworth, Los Angeles location. Also, all Mongoose Legion BMXs will have the wheel size (20-inch diameter) unless it’s the Legion L16 or Legion L18 (which have 16-inch and 18-inch diameter wheels, respectively).
