The wheels, which are essential to the operation of these coolers, are made of tough plastic so you don’t have to worry about them popping. The core metal parts of these igloo soft cooler coolers are made of marine-grade strength aluminum. This material provides very good strength and is rust-resistant while still managing to stay relatively lightweight.
If you need a go anywhere cooler that looks cooler than most may be suggest the Trailmate Cooler from Igloo. This is great, so everyone has easy access to their cold beverage of choice. It also had two attachments for either fishing poles or an umbrella. I’ll use the umbrella attachment the most, as it’s never a bad idea to find some extra shade on a hot day. This was a cooler I had my eye on for years and finally snagged one to test out.
The telescoping trolley handle is easy to slide in and out when you need it. It also doubles as a front handle for those few occasions you may actually need to pick your cooler up. Don’t need the steak and eggs, but bringing all the beer?
At the front, the Trailmate has two more storage compartments, one of which is a waterproof storage compartment for your phone or wallet, for example. The lid contains four cup holders and a stand for your phone or tablet. In the cooler there is a basket to keep things cold that should not get wet. With the included tray, you turn the pull-up bar into an additional workspace. At the bottom you will find two more holders for a beach umbrella or fishing rods.
This allows a bit more cold air to escape than we would have hoped. That being said, the inclusion of thick walls, Cool Riser Technology, and Ultratherm insulation do help make up for some of this. Ice life will vary depending on how much (and what type) of ice you use, but you can typically expect from 40 to 85 hours of ice life.
