The Ozark Trail 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent Is Average Quality

Every year, thousands of new campers get their first taste of the outdoors in an Ozark Trail tent. Their combination of space and affordability catches the eye of many campers, but the details on these shelters can be lacking. If you’re considering an Ozark Trail yourself, you’re in the right place. That’s why I like Ozark Trail – their tents provide strong protection against wind, rain and sun across the board. Certainly it’s not the best weather protection money can buy, but for summer campers and those will be avoiding bad storms, they will hold up just fine.

This tent features a large door and a mesh ceiling, but no room divider. The assembled weight of the tent is 14 pounds, and it’s suitable for two seasons. It features one large storage ozark trail canopy tent locker with zippered access, a media pocket, e-port, gear loft storage, and storage pockets. This is a 20-person tent, featuring three rooms and measures in total 22 by 16 by 6.7 feet.

The space is large enough to fit 2 or 3 zero gravity chairs as well as a small table, has full mesh on every inch of it, and a large T door for easy access. It will also work for anyone that’s sick and tired of the traditional 2-3 person tents and looking to upgrade. Despite what you may have read, you can absolutely enjoy an outdoors experience in an Ozark Trail tent. It’s a cool tent all around, but our favorite feature has to be the 360-degree views delivered courtesy of this yurt’s giant mesh windows.

The two instant tents require no assembly and can quickly be set up or packed away when needed. They include pre-attached poles that fold and unfold as you pack or unpack the tent—Ozark Trail claims the instant tents can be set up in 60 seconds. Additionally, the screened room can also be used as “outdoor” sleeping space when weather permits. With a lot of flexibility, and a center height of 7 feet, there is plenty of space for everyone no matter how you configure the tent. The tent itself is nice and roomy, and boasts a 6-foot peak height to make changing clothes a drama-free endeavor.

Purchasing a large footprint for the entire size of the tent will provide a solid floor for keeping the screen room tidy. Make sure to stake it down properly to avoid any incidents during windy conditions. Drawing the eye of family campers as extra storage space, or shelter from rain/sun is paramount when camping with children.

If you’re looking to save money but still want that cabin tent experience, the Ozark Trail 10-Person Two-Room Cabin is tough to beat. If you’re willing to spend a few extra bucks (emphasis on few), the Ozark Trail 9-Person Cabin with a screen room gives some added livability at a similar price point. Take time to treat the entire tent with a DWR coating like Nikwax (not just the rainfly) and never leave the house without a tent repair kit in case disaster strikes. Large dome tents are also an option, and although they’re a little less flashy, they have some perks of their own. First off, dome tents are typically less expensive since they have fewer total parts and less sophisticated frames. Second, dome tents tend to fare better in bad weather because they’re rounded shapes are more aerodynamic.

But, sometimes you want privacy, and this tent offers great room options. The main room has a divider down the middle, and then there’s the pop-out room on the backside. This pop-out room is great to use as a kid’s play area, a gear storage “garage,” or just an adults-only sleeping room. Though it is a Cabin style tent, the slanted walls will give it more wind resistance than a typical cabin tent. This is perfect for campers who don’t want to be woken up to the sun’s rays at 5 in the morning on a nice camping trip. Trailspace’s community of gear reviewers has field-tested and rated the top warm weather tents.

With 7 mesh windows and a full mesh roof, the Ozark trail has great ventilation. The Coleman Instant 8 is spacious and the big mesh windows are perfect to let the air in. It has a full mesh roof, and huge mesh windows, perfect for ventilation during those hot nights. The CORE tent is comfortable, originally made to sleep 9 people, there is plenty of space for 8.
